Paranormals Abound

Eirelander Publishing is always on the lookout for a good paranormal or fantasy story. Elves, Werewolves, and Vampires—Oh, my! Whatever your magical/paranormal favorite flavor is, we'd like to see it. General submission rules apply.

Contemporary/Modern

Readers love stories set in a Contemporary/Modern genre. We do too! General submission rules apply.

Holiday Themes

Do you have the perfect holiday story in mind? New Year's, Valentines, Lucky St. Paddy's, Halloween, and Christmas just to name a few. Or do you have another holiday in mind?

Eirelander Publishing is looking for stories for your favorite romantic or not-so romantic holiday. Yes, even those scary stories that make you jump when you are all alone on a Christmas Eve. Or what would it be like to meet your true love for a space filled Valentines?

  • Stories must have strong elements of your chosen holiday. They may include any plot genre or genre combination. These stories should include a fully developed plot with fully fleshed characters. The characters need not be likable, but must give the reader good cause to root for them. It should be understood that a positive ending/HEA is preferred
  • These stories may be any length from super-short to saga.
  • Stories for consideration can be either Mainline or Heat Line, but must follow our general submission guidelines. They can be either general fiction or romance. If romance, they may be any heat level.
  • Send a query letter in the body of an e-mail along with the entire document to submissions@eirelanderpublishing.com. Please include a short summary of your story, your publishing credits or experience if applicable and the entire document. Please include, 'Submission, Holiday' in the subject line.
  • Novella lengths and above are considered for print publication in accordance with our 'mission statement'.

Unto Tomrrow

What does the future hold? It's a question we want you to answer. These stories should have a modern day traveler who journeys to the future by way of a device. The device or mode of travel may be of the author's creation, but should have a detailed explanation, myth or legend attached to it. The plot must uphold the 'reason' for the traveler’s journey whether or not they journey to the near future or distant future time.

  • Stories must have strong elements of futuristic/spec-fic fiction. They may include any plot from science fiction, fantasy, utopian/dystopian fiction, apocalyptic to post apocalyptic/new world order. These stories should include a fully developed plot with fully fleshed characters. The characters need not be likable, but must give the reader good cause to root for them. The device or vehicle may work both ways (journey to future then back to present), but it should be understood that a positive ending/HEA is preferred
Please include, 'Submission, Unto Tomorrow' in the subject line.
  • Novella lengths and above are considered for print publication in accordance with our 'mission statement'.

Legacy 2150

Our signature line of hard science fiction stories, they may explore any science fiction plot but should apply themselves to the guidelines of 'hard' science fiction. Fully developed worlds, spaceships, aliens, and fully-fleshed main characters with intriguing sci-fi plots that do not shy away from social issues, morality plays and all other aspects that make 'hard' sci-fi what it is should appear in the story. These are not watered down science fiction but all that made science fiction great.

  • Stories must include the elements of true hard science fiction. Detail to world building, whether a space ship or a distant planet is imperative. The plot must be attached to all intrinsic elements including the world, the characters, and the antagonist. Gadgets, gizmos and 'alien speak' should be well developed and have ready explanation if necessary.
  • Story length should be novelette length and up.
Please include, 'Submission, Legacy 2150' in the subject line.

Revenge is Sweet

A one night stand can be a good thing if it's with the right person. This line is explicitly designed for characters on the rebound and does revolve around that tiny bit of vengeance every lover scorned wishes to extract from a former lover/boyfriend/husband. These stories need not be just a 'one night stand', but they should stick firm to that instance of vengeance and the resolution of getting back on the proverbial 'horse that kicked' them.

  • Stories must have an integral aspect of revenge though it can be downplayed and diluted. The focus is on the injured party in these stories and how a chance meeting with a stranger can help them resolve emotional issues.
  • Story length super-short, short or novella length.
  • Stories for this line are in the Heat Line, and must follow the submission guidelines. They should be Carnal or Extreme. They may take place in any time period including historical or futuristic. An HEA or HEA for now is preferred.
  • Send a query letter in the body of an e-mail along with the entire document to submissions@eirelanderpublishing.com. Please include a short summary of your story, your publishing credits or experience if applicable and the entire document. Please include, 'Submission, Revenge is Sweet' in the subject line.

The Borderlands

The lowest Plane of Existence in the Seven Levels of Heaven, the Borderlands have a dual purpose:

  1. The realm is a buffer against the demons who still want to control the other levels of Heaven.
  2. It gives the Royal Strains a place off earth to rule their kind.

The Borderlands are centered around Tir na nOg, the land of the Fay and Fairfolk. This land is a gift from an ancient Goddess. Most of the paranormals in the Borderland revere the Goddess or are directly tied to her through a gifting.

The Borderlands are ever expanding. Because they are in an Ethereal Plane they are not limited by planetary size. Though most of the realms are of a like size, the Vampires and Werelions do control vast amounts of land (called a four quarter plot).

A normal sized realm is roughly the same square acreage as the United States. A four quarter plot is roughly the size of the European continent including Asia.

Shires, villages and burgs dot most realms. It is important to note that all mayors, leaders or burgermeisters answer to a Royal except for a select few. The Elves are an example of this. The Trolls too do not answer to a Royal.

There is an important prophecy related to the Borderlands. It once foretold the second Great War. The third Great Paranormal War will be upon them soon.

Want to learn more? Then you must step through an Ethereal Gate. One is currently open and awaits you.

Now that you have visited the Realms, are you interested in submitting a story for the Borderlands? The Royals are interested in hearing your tale. But they want you to know that your story must follow these rules
